Cluster Innovation Centre

1. What is Cluster Innovation Centre?

Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC) is an institute set up by the University of Delhi with the objective of fostering an ecosystem of innovation and connecting research with application for the benefit of society. The aim of the CIC is to support application oriented research to solve real world problems by developing ideas into innovative applications successfully.

2. How many courses are conducted by Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC) in the University of Delhi?

There are three courses which are offered by Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC) in University of Delhi:

  1. B. Tech /B.S. Innovation with Mathematics and I.T.
  2. B. Tech Humanities (under Meta College Concept)
  3. Master of Mathematics Education (under Meta University Concept)

B. Tech / B.S. Innovation with Mathematics and I.T.

1. What are the minimum eligibility criteria for taking admission in B. Tech /B.S. Innovation in Mathematics and I.T. in University of Delhi?
  • A minimum aggregate marks at 10+2 level as mentioned below (category wise):
    General Category
    60% in any four subjects (including mathematics).
    OBC Category
    54% in any four subjects (including mathematics).
    PH Category
    55% in any four subjects (including mathematics).
    SC/ST Category
    Passing marks with Mathematics as one subject.
  • You should be currently enrolled in any regular full time programme of study at the University of Delhi.
2. Can a student also apply for B. Tech/BS Innovation with Mathematics and IT course under Cluster Innovation Centre if he/she is pursuing his/her degree in 2nd year from the University of Delhi?

Yes, a student can apply for this course at Cluster Innovation Centre, if he / she is pursuing 2nd year regular degree course from the University of Delhi.

3. Can the students who have already enrolled in 1st year of Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board (NCWEB) or in the School of Open Learning (SOL) apply for B. Tech/B.S. Innovation with Mathematics and I.T. course?

No, students already enrolled in 1st year of Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board (NCWEB) or in the School of Open Learning (SOL) cannot apply in the B.Tech/B.S. Innovation with Mathematics and I.T. course. Only regular students can apply to this course.

4. Can students of Arts and Commerce (class XII) having Mathematics and English as their subjects apply for the B. Tech/B.S. Innovation with Mathematics and I.T. course?

Yes, a student of Arts/Commerce having Mathematics and English can apply in the B. Tech/B.S. Innovation with Mathematics and I.T. course on the condition that he/she fulfills the eligibility criteria as laid down by the Cluster Innovation Centre


B. Tech. Humanities (Under Meta College Concept)

1. How many streams are available for specialization in B. Tech. Humanities in University of Delhi?

Specialization in B. Tech. Humanities is available in the following streams:

  • Journalism
  • Education
  • Historical Tourism
  • Counseling
  • Art and Design
2. What are the minimum eligibility criteria for taking admission in the B. Tech. Humanities course in University of Delhi?
  • A minimum aggregate marks at 10+2 level as mentioned below (category wise):
    General Category
    60% in any four subjects.
    OBC Category
    54% in any four subjects.
    PH Category
    55% in any four subjects.
    SC/ST Category
    Passing marks.
  • Candidate should be currently enrolled in any regular full time programme of study at the University of Delhi.
3. Can the students who have already enrolled in Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board (NCWEB) and in the School of Open Learning (SOL) of 1st year apply for B. Tech. Humanities course?

Yes, the students already enrolled in 1st year of Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board (NCWEB) or in the School of Open Learning (SOL), can apply for B. Tech. Humanities course as well


General Information

1. What is the procedure for taking admission?

The admission process comprises of two steps which are as follows:

  • A Written Test consisting of multiple choice questions of two hours duration.
  • Interview for the short-listed candidates.
    • The weightage for the written examination - 85%
    • For Interview - 15%
2. How many seats are available for the Courses?

There are forty (40) seats available for the courses, respectively and Reservation shall be given as per the norms laid down by the University of Delhi.

3. How can one apply for admission at Cluster Innovation Centre?

Please click "Apply" link in the "Study at CIC" menu on the top of the website.

4. What is the fee structure?
The fee for courses, per Semester is Rs.5000/- and Rs.1000/- which is refundable (Library Security) one time.
